FAQs

What is the cost?

The cost is dependent upon the size of the organization. The smallest nonprofits (under $1million in revenue) pay just $1900 per report. The larger ones pay more, according to their revenue. The minimum subscription is 2 years or a total of 4 reports. This cost includes an executive presentation to your leadership or Board, and any additional analytics that you need. We are VERY serious about helping the nonprofit heroes get more money and support And we do everything we can to make that happen for you.

What is the typical benefit of subscribing?

We typically see more than 1000% ROI (return on investment). So for every dollar spent on a subscription, nonprofits typically get at least 10 times as much in new donations. Often much, much higher. This shows the power of understanding what motivates donors, and what they think of you.

Can I buy just one report?

No, we do not offer single reports. This is because we know from decades of experience that the most valuable part of the Donor Pool Builder is your ability to manage progress over time. As they say: “You can’t manage what you don’t measure”. You cannot do that with a single point-in-time report.

How do I use the report?

Our staff of experienced professionals will help you to go through your first report to make sure you understand the details and get the most out of all the insights. For subsequent reports, we have industry leading experts ready to sit down with you to make the most of your subscription. Of course, not everyone needs this service, as the reports themselves are helpful and straightforward.

Do I have to give you my list of donors for you to survey?

No. As a matter of fact, we do not accept any list from any nonprofit as that would bias the sample. And our business is predicated on gathering completely unbiased and accurate data.

What do I have to do to be included in the research?

First, check to see if you are already included in our research. If you are not and would like to be included, you will need to commit to a subscription (minimum two years) and then let us know the exact towns where you are offering programming and the exact towns where you are looking to raise money. We will then make sure we ask residents of those towns about you and how you can win their donations.

What should I expect from a subscription?

We think you should expect a minimum of 10X ROI. That means for every dollar you spend, you should get at least ten dollars in new donations. Our research is designed to show you what is the easiest path to to have the biggest impact on your unrestricted funding from local households.

Are there any planned expansions of the program?

Yes, we are constantly receiving requests to expand to new towns and states. We will choose these new areas based upon demand and our ability to service the nonprofits there. We do welcome partnerships in order to expand this valuable insight to as many nonprofits as possible.

Do you offer referrals?

Absolutely! One of the best things about the nonprofit sector is the willingness of great people to collaborate and share the best ideas. We have dozens of nonprofits who have seen and used our data and can talk to you about how they implemented what they learned. Chances are you already know organizations that are using the Donor Pool Builder insights. If not, contact us and we can give you a list.

Do you ever add new questions to the research?

Every single wave. We want to make this as timely and impactful as possible so we are always taking suggestions from our subscribers as to what they need to know. This has included asking about the impact of national policy changes, economic trends, social media trends, etc. Who knows what will be relevant in the future? We only know that we will cover it for you.

Can we add our own questions to the survey?

We do offer a VERY LIMITED number of bespoke questions to each wave. But we can only accommodate one client in each geographic area per wave. So if you are interested in adding a question but another organization has already added a question, then you will have to wait until the subsequent wave. The reason we cannot let every subscriber add questions is that the survey would become way too long for the respondents, and we do not want to compromise data quality.

Is there a cost to add additional questions to the survey?

Yes. The exact cost depends upon the type of question (closed-ended or open-ended) and the geography covered (1 town vs the whole state). Contact us with your ideas so we can calculate a cost for you. Who knows, maybe we are already thinking of adding the questions and you will get the results at no cost.
